For certain countries, DHL applies additional handling surcharges due to heightened operational risks or regulatory restrictions. AmiAmi incorporates these fees directly into the shipping cost for affected destinations. Please read below for more details.
Elevated Risk Surcharge (4,500 JPY)
DHL imposes an "Elevated Risk" surcharge when shipping to, or importing from, countries where operations are considered to be at elevated risk due to ongoing war, civil unrest, or continuous threats of terrorism.
Current Countries Affected (subject to change):
- Afghanistan
- Burkina Faso
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Haiti
- Iraq
- Israel
- Lebanon
- Libya
- Mali
- Somalia Mogadishu
- Sudan
- Syria
- Ukraine
- Venezuela
- Yemen
A surcharge of 4,500 JPY is automatically included in the DHL shipping cost for shipments to these destinations.
Restricted Destination Surcharge (4,000 JPY)
A "Restricted Destination" surcharge is applied when shipping to, or importing from, countries subjected to specific trade restrictions imposed by the UN Security Council.
Current Countries Affected (subject to change):
- Central African Republic
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Iran
- Iraq
- North Korea
- Libya
- Somalia Mogadishu
- Yemen
A surcharge of 4,000 JPY is automatically included in the DHL shipping cost for shipments to these countries.
